Portland Tattoo Artist Ryan Zachary

Being a tattoo artist in the wonderful city of Portland gives me plenty of opportunities to tattoo a favorite subject matter, roses. Roses are classic and have been a standard symbol in American tattooing for generations. Living in the Rose City gives people an extra excuse to get them and since Portland has a great rose garden I try to take the time every year to go out to Washington Park to draw and photograph them. Here are some samples from Monday’s trip.

And if you ever get the chance, biking down to the rose garden from the zoo is exhilarating!

Here are some pics I took after finishing the background and doing some touch-up work on Dan’s dragon tattoo, this was a really fun tattoo to do. I’ll post healed pics as soon as I have them, I can’t wait to see it once all the grey in the background heals!
